Nazareth Housing oversees 40 units of permanent supportive housing spread among a number of buildings that Nazareth assisted in the homesteading process.

Youth Programming


L3 Kids provides an array of free programming to children in transitional housing and from the general community. Youth who experience housing instability and homelessness often fall behind in their school work, experience high absenteeism and develop an avoidance for school because of the stigma they feel surrounding families difficulties. is designed to offer access to resources otherwise unavailable and to ameliorate the effects that chronic housing instability causes for children in education and personal development.

COMPUTER WHIZ KIDZ-COMPUTER SKILLS
Using the 15 state-of-the-art computers in the Center for Learning And Self-sufficiency (CLASS), well trained volunteer teams build computer literacy skills through reading, writing, and drawing activities.

READ-TO-ME READING ENHANCEMENT
Trained adult volunteers encourage reading by reading to and with a child. Each Read-to-Me session concludes with a fun literacy building activity. Throughout the year there are periodic book give-a-ways and field trip to local book stores to enable children to buy a book of their own choosing.

TEAM GREEN-ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND ACTION
Inspiring children and youth to become social activists! Team Green helps them develop an appreciation of the environment and problems that face it by working on green-themed art projects, science experiments and community service projects.

ARTISTS ALL
Curriculum based art programming offered twice weekly for children and youth in shelter housing. A variety of visual performing and media art workshops develop self-esteem and raise self-expression through the process of art.

BANK IT!
Financial literacy program for children and teens introducing them to investments, power saving, budgeting and making money work for them.

HOMEWORK HELP
In partnership with the Junior Board of Catholic Charities, adult volunteers assist children and youth in the completion of homework and offer tutoring to strengthen educational and personal performance. Home Work Help meets every other Wednesday at the Center for Learning And Self-Sufficiency (CLASS). Registration for this program is required. Space is limited. Provides Youth 14-21 with any array of free services and personal development opportunities designed to help youth grow into responsible adulthood.
