Homelessness Prevention
The Housing Stability Support Project (HSSP) was initiated in 2006, through funding received from the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance.
HSSP has three major components:
• Ongoing case management from our Homelessness Prevention Specialist of formerly homeless families that enter safe, permanent housing helping to ensure the retention of their housing and stability of their families.
• Needs assessment for households presenting barriers to stable housing. Services are offered through Nazareth Housing programming or through referral to the appropriate social service, governmental or community based organizations that can help address the family’s needs most effectively.
• Emergency assistance for rent and utility arrears, unexpected medical and other urgent family needs that threaten housing and stability.
The funding received requires a 100% match from agency funds.
