Events with Nazareth Housing
Thank You from the Executive Director, Michael Callaghan
On behalf of the Board of Directors and Staff of Nazareth Housing, I extend my deepest thanks to all who helped to make our Twenty-fifth Anniversary Benefit such a success. Your financial support, attendance and ongoing participation in helping to bring more stable housing – is priceless! Our evening was beautifully staged at the Columbus Citizen’s Foundation as we were joined by friends, family and professional colleagues who have supported the mission of Nazareth Housing over the years. Former resident Elena and her daughter Jennifer shared their amazing story of moving from homelessness to safe and secure housing. If you were not able to join us, you can click HERE to read their story.
We were delighted to have our Founder, Sr. Marion Agnes Daniel, MSBT, receive the first Legacy Award for her years of tireless effort on behalf of families and people in need. Our Community Service Award winner Deborah Koenigsberger, of Hearts of Gold, was present with her assistant Katie. We honored Hearts of Gold for the significant support homeless women and children have received through the organization over the years. Steve Edwards, the long time President of our Board of Directors was our Honoree. He was joined by his wife Robin, son William and daughter Elizabeth in the celebration. In his remarks, Steve reminded us that love is at the core of our continued efforts on behalf of homeless and struggling families.
The evening was graced by the music of Maureen Kelley Stewart, who brought the vitality of New York City’s cabaret tradition to the evening. Previous honorees in attendance included: Anna Fanatci, Ken and Betsy Plevan, Rusty Wing, Pete Eikenberry, and Richard Carlson.
It was a tremendous evening and we are very grateful for the support of so many good hearted friends who gave so generously even in the face of a questionable economic climate.
